La Neta Cocina and Lounge

$ $

This relatively new spot in Downtown Summerlin is a Date Night selection by Instagrammer Lindsay Stewart (@thelasvegasfoodie), who says, “La Neta not only has a unique and delicious menu, but it also has the most beautiful decor -- dark and sexy. It makes you feel like you’re on the beaches in Mexico, with a sultry party vibe. Perfect for date night.”

“Israel (Castro), the chef, is exciting in what he does with Mexican cuisine,” adds celebrity chef Rick Moonen. “And it’s delicious.”

The décor that impressed Stewart features aged brick walls, a stained-glass bar centered by a 14-foot sugar tree, floor-to-ceiling open-aired windows, chandeliers and two stained glass murals showcasing a red rose. The non-traditional menu that earned Moonen’s endorsement includes dishes such as wagyu tostaditos (A5 tartar, chipotle and wagyu dust), tiradito (hamachi, pickled onion and jalapeno citrus), seafood poblano (lobster, shrimp and queso fresco), Hong Kong Caesar (with avocado, pepita seeds and garlic croutons), and red velvet churros with cream cheese frosting dipping sauce. The beverage menu offers creative craft cocktails like the Roses Are Red with Chandon Rosé Champagne, gin, raspberry sorbet, fresh lemon and violet syrup.
