Chang’s Hong Kong Cuisine
$ $“Chang’s is a dim sum factory man, and I mean that in a good way,” said Anthony Curtis, publisher of the Las Vegas Advisor. “They’ve got it down. You go in there just about any time of day, and that place is just packed. They have every kind of dim sum. The price point is as good as any place in town. And if I had to pick one dim sum place, it would be Chang’s.”
Quite an endorsement for a guy who gets out as much as Curtis does, and no wonder; the variety and quality of the dim sum at this unassuming place is noteworthy. As the carts laden with little pots make their way around the room, guests can choose pan-fried turnip cakes, chicken feet, fried shrimp rolls, shrimp har gow, steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, steamed beef meatballs, baked barbecued pork buns, fried dumplings with pork and mushrooms or sweets such as egg custard buns, egg tarts or coconut buns. It goes on and on and on.
If you’d rather order from the menu, there’s no shortage of choices there either. Those possibilities include house-specialty sauteed conch meat with asparagus and French-style diced beef.
