Fuhu
$ $ $“Fuhu may be new, but if Joe Elevado is in the kitchen, you know it’s going to be something special,” says Food and Loathing podcast host Al Mancini.
He’s referring to the executive chef of both Fufu and The Zouk Group, who has been offering hip, fun, delicious Asian fusion cuisine in high-energy restaurants on and off The Strip since he opened Social House in the old Treasure Island. And while the chef also helped feed the suburban beautiful people at Jing in Downtown Summerlin, his latest endeavor feels closer to his old Wynn/Encore poolside party spot, Andrea’s.
From sushi and sashimi to fried rice and a Szechuan-crusted filet mignon, there’s a healthy cross-pollination of traditional Asian influences at work in this Resorts World spot. But you’ll also get tastes of the modern classics Elevado prepared at Nobu locations in NYC and Las Vegas in dishes like his lettuce-wrapped miso cod “tacos.”
“The main dining room is open, airy and gorgeous,” Mancini notes. “But if you’re going for brunch, and the weather is nice, the poolside patio is where you want to be.”
