VegeNation
$VegeNation was one of the first vegan restaurants in Downtown Las Vegas and opened before the area really underwent its major overhaul in the late 2010s. Founded by Chef Donald Lemperle, the restaurant aims to share his take on global street food. With eats like the Downtown Tony (a portobello sandwich with sauteed 'shrooms, caramelized onions, smoked gouda, slaw and sriracha aioli) named after the late Tony Hsieh, to pizzas, burgers and even a vegan sushi roll, there's something for everyone here. They've even got a variety of exceptional desserts.
What makes VegeNation stand out isn't just the plant-based eats, it's the role the restaurant has played in fostering a community in the neighborhood. They've done pop-ups featuring local artists, guest speaker series and chef pop-ups, to fundraising dinners where all the proceeds benefit local organizations. Open for lunch and dinner, plus the addition of weekend brunch, it's the only vegan restaurant a stone's throw from Fremont Street, and one of the hottest in town.
