Atomic Liquors

This old-time bar on East Fremont has the distinction of being Las Vegas’ oldest free-standing bar. It first opened in 1952, and its name harkens back to a time when patrons would venture onto the roof to watch the mushroom clouds of the above-ground bomb tests at the Nevada Test Site in the 1950s.

The explosions are long over, but what is here is a stellar craft beer selection to enjoy. And since the bar reopened in 2012, there have been more than 500 different beers poured.

Atomic became a beacon for sour beer fans, and before the pandemic was host to one of the most highly attended sour beer festivals in the US. You can still find several beers on the tart side pouring here, and among several regional brews you will also find several local beers, such as Bad Beat Brewing Gose-Mosa, Lovelady Mai Tai Fruited Sour and Neon Desert Strata Variant Hazy IPA.

If you get hungry, The Kitchen at Atomic is located right next door, serving wings, street tacos, sandwiches, burgers and salads.
